The first step in forming a safety system is to perform a risk analysis with the purpose of identifying risks and ways to avoid the same. The risks may in some cases be eliminated by simply changing working methods whereas other potential danger spots might require technical software or hardware solutions. Examples of such technical solutions might include light curtains that will stop or in other ways tell a machine or part of a machine to behave in a certain way if someone or something breaks the light; or it can be a matter of using safe components with double detection etc.
